Owen’s Ache-ie Heart and Britney’s Wiggin Out
What is going on with Hollywood you guys? Owen Wilson decided that losing Kate Hudson to her new boyfriend meant it was time to take a oneway trip to the afterlife. Britney’s latest antics show that she’s still a girl and not yet a woman who is a child carrying member of mommiehood. Now, estranged from her own mother, Britney’s probably gonna make a new album for her fans. Anyone wanna bet me on this?
Poor Owen should just celebrate by taking on a new career in modelling. I do feel sorry for the guy because it does appear that he has everything an average Joe could want in life. Aren’t there bigger problems in the world than losing Kate Hudson? Sadness lingers. I’m off to watch MTV.
Chewed out.
It’s time to really update you guys on how things have been goin’. I have to brush my dog’s (Charlie) teeth on a regular basis. He has reached the age of five—almost middle aged. They say that dog years are equal to seven human years. It might be an urban legend. Anyhow, I brush his teeth once a week with special toothpaste. Don’t read this and brush your dog’s teeth with human toothpaste. Human toothpaste is poisonous for canines and felines.
I’ve lost about eight pounds by watching the food I’m eating while I’m at work. Eating more salads and less fried food has helped me lose some weight. I haven’t been good at running everyday; however, I can consciously watch what I eat. I lost a lot of weight in college and gained some back after I reached my twenty-sixth birthday. I was an overweight child. I’m working on fitting more comfortably into a man’s medium. It will happen.
Other than that—life rolls on.
M.J.’s Birthday
My niece’s birthday was celebrated over the last few days. Consequently, I’m sharing this poem with all of you. Drink up everyone.
Coffee’s Twelfth Re-birthday
This is coffee’s twelfth re-birthday it seems.
From the shores of Seattle, Washington
all the way to Manhattan, New York.
In bookstore cafes
In Nordstrom’s at the mall
Mocha Lattes and Café Lattes
Topped with whip cream
brewed with care and re-stylized
In its past reincarnation,
served black or with creamer
Regular or Decaffeinated please.
Now we have Starbucks
And Joe Mugg to boot
Specialty coffees galore
A customer has a lot to choose from
Even Dunk-n-Donuts
has special blends that many adore
Mocha, Mochacinno, White Hazelnut, and Vanilla Frape’
We celebrate Coffee’s re-birthday.
Happy Twelfth re-birthday Coffee! Cheers!
Olive oil! Anything goes.
I just got home from work and was flipping channels on television. You’d be surprised what they sell on television. They are selling Nathan’s franks. Uggggh…okay. Now I do like the occasional hotdog. Selling weiners as a product on QVC? They’ll turn anything into a novelty item these days. Yesterday, a public television cooking show featured an olive oil boutique in Spain. The store sells over 1000 brands of Spanish olive oil. Spaniards take their olive oil seriously. They even have events similar to wine tastings–except for the fact that it’s olive oil instead of wine. Tonight’s dinner is spaghetti with meat sauce. Any takers???
Awake from blog zzzZZZZ.
Yes, I am still alive. I’ve just been busy catching up on possible job opportunities. I’ve also been working an extra hour at the restaurant. I get home tired. Apologies go out to everyone reading my blog.
Anywho, I watched the movie Stardust. It’s like the Princess Bride for this generation. It’s also a good date movie. Michelle Pfeiffer is funny in this film. It’s nice to see her funny side.
A Joke on Politicos
With all the hype of the Youtube Presidential debate–I wanted to share this poem with you.
Presidential Schmoliticks
Totem poles at the debate
In high end business suits
Presidential candidates all in a row
Make sure to keep their cool
Promote the red, white, and blue
Elephant republicans rant issues
Donkey democrats demand changes
Hours of rhetoric reveal
The public’s real allies
Listen and learn for the truth
Each candidate works hard
In hopes of wowing the audience
For a vote
Remember their names
On voting day
Give one a thumbs-up
Democracy at work for you and me.
Apple crumbs
There is this apple festival coming up in October. It’s in southern Pennsylvania—just outside of Gettysburg, PA. It’s really popular. They provide apple chips, apple cider, apple jams and jellies. There is always a country band and a petting zoo. Americana at its finest is on display. They even serve pork country sausage with bits of apple inside. I guess I’m looking forward to the fall months. The tree leaves will turn brown and it’s time to whip out the scarves.
Wait…all this talk about fall. I need to stay in the end of summer. I need to see what movies are out in theaters and worth watching. Summer isn’t over.
August City Lights
It’s August. It’s actually snuck up on us. Fall is just around the corner. The neighbors are getting their summer (home improvement) projects done. Not a moment too soon. The bridge collapse in Minnesota is all over the news. Sadness lingers and the victims are in my thoughts. Life is fleeting and I try to make the most of it.
I’m getting more and more interested in the fast changes in technology. Telecommuting seems to be the trend in the workforce these days. The notebook powerhouses being sold on the market make it easier for a professional to work from home. More than one of my college buddies has a home office. This wasn’t conveniently possible five years ago. The world has changed. I’m thinking of taking a foreign language course (possibly Greek) at the local community college. It’s good life enrichment for the mind. I’m game since I was an honors student from grade school into high school.
